Liaocheng People's Hospital Neurology Department is a collaborative unit of Shandong Medical and Health Speciality, Shandong Provincial Key Disciplines, Ministry of Health Stroke Prevention and Screening Base, National Pharmaceutical Clinical Trial Base, China Interventional Stoke Registry (CISR) Branch Center and National Carotid Artery Stent Implantation, is the training point for postgraduate students of Neurology of Medical College of Qingdao University and Taishan Medical College. Based on this department, the Engineering Research Center for Minimally Invasive Treatment of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases in Shandong Province has been established.

　　At present, the department of neurology of the general hospital has 72 clinicians, including 13 chief physicians, 17 associate chief physicians, 8 master supervisors, 17 doctors and candidates, and 44 masters. There are 1 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province, outstanding contributions of young and middle-aged experts of Liaocheng, Liaocheng top talent, Liaocheng "100 people plan" experts, Liaocheng "Shuicheng talent" 5 people in total, 2 members of the National Professional。ｃ0ｍmittee, 9 honorary chairmen, chairmen, vice-chairmen of provincial professional 。ｃ0ｍmittees, 41 standing members of provincial professional。ｃ0ｍmittees. There are four wards, one N-ICU and one neurology laboratory in the general hospital. 168 beds are open. There are three wards and one N-ICU in the Brain Hospital of the branch hospital. There are 150 open beds, totally 7 wards and 2 N-ICUs, 318 open beds.

　　The department is equipped with such sub-specialties as cerebrovascular disease and neural intervention, epilepsy and sleep disorders, neuropsychological and dementia, neuroimmunopathy, neuromuscular disease, neurogenetic degeneration, neurocritical disease, central nervous system infection, neurorehabilitation, and neuroelectrophysiology. It has Liaocheng Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, Neuroimmune Laboratory, and the earliest clinics of Parkinson's Disease, Myopathy, Epilepsy and Memory Disorder in Liaocheng.

　　New technologies such as cerebral angiography, angioplasty of intracranial and extracranial artery stenosis, stent implantation, ultra-early thrombolysis of acute cerebral infarction, recanalization after cerebral vascular occlusion, embolization of aneurysms, interventional treatment of arteriovenous malformations and arteriovenous fistulas have been developed successively in the department. They are in the leading position in Shandong Province with an annual operation volume of more than 900 cases. In 1998, Shandong Province took the lead in innovating and developing the technology of nerve intervention. Now, an acute stroke rescue technical team has been set up in。ｃ0ｍbination with emergency department, imaging department, laboratory department and intensive care unit to intervene early in patients with acute ischemic stroke, standardize intravenous thrombolysis, arterial thrombolysis and bridging therapy, which greatly improves the success rate of rescue for patients with acute stroke and shortens the hospitalization time. Botulinum toxin injection for hemifacial spasm, micro-invasive treatment of cerebral hemorrhage by cone cranium and lateral cervical puncture for subarachnoid hemorrhage were developed. The stem cell transplantation carried out by Dr. Gong Dianrong has achieved remarkable results in the treatment of difficult neurological diseases, which is in the leading level in Shandong Province. The Neurological Intensive Care Unit (N-ICU) headed by Dr. Guo Dong is currently the most perfect neurological intensive care unit in Northwest Shandong Province.

　　In the past five years, 291 professional papers have been published, including 34 SCI papers published by the first author or correspondent in Stroke, Plose One, European Journal of Vascular Medicine and other international authoritative magazines, and in the Chinese Journal of Neurology, Chinese Journal of Neurology, Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science, Chinese Journal of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease for the Elderly. Chinese journals such as Sickness Magazine have published 57 articles and more than 200 national core journals, and 11 monographs have been edited and published, and 7 national patents have been applied for. Two second and third prizes of Shandong Science and Technology Progress Award, four third prizes of Shandong Medical Science and Technology Award, 31 first, second and third prizes of Liaocheng Science and Technology Progress Award, and seven national patents were awarded to the first and main researchers.
